GET UNREADY WITH ME: HOW I’M DECOMPRESSING AT HOME

Hi, friends. As the year passes, I feel that more than ever routines have become vital to my self-care regimen. I wanted to offer some tips on how I’ve been managing this new normal we all have found ourselves in. Whether you live at home with family, a significant other, a furry friend, or alone; these are some ways that can help you decompress at night.

1. Night shower/ wash & condition hair for next day 

My bed is a sacred space so I like to enter it fresh and clean. In turn, I have always been a night shower person (I also love avoiding a blow-dryer). For shampoo and conditioner I am currently using the Hair Volume Multiplier with Bamboo- part of Pantene’s new Nutrient Blends Collection.

2. Face mask and chill

3. Prep for tomorrow 

The best way to ease any anxiousness about the next day is to be ready for it. Make a list of what you’d like to complete for that day, prep meals, and pick out an outfit. Wake up with a plan! (even if that plan is taking it easy at home)

4. Disconnect from tech

Once I’m in bed I like to read. Getting lost in a book versus constant scrolling has been the ultimate distraction for me these days.

5. Breathing apps

The last thing I do before I fall asleep is guided breathing exercises. There are tons of great breathing/meditation apps that can help you do this. It’s a simple way to alleviate any anxiety or a racing mind at night.

I truly believe that routines are so important to help keep consistency and calm in our lives. We may not always be able to check every box each night, and that is completely ok.
